Travel with/without your surfboard...?

Wave Riding Vehicles or WRV will rent you any of their brand new surfboards from in their surfshop at $100 per week or $20 per day. They had a huge selection in Haleiwa, HI which is on the northshore of Oahu. I wish I new that earlier because Delta airlines charges $150 each leg segment to transport surfboards. Anyone have any other suggestions???
